Presidential Debate #1

I don’t know about you guys, but after the debate, my social media pages were filled with memes! If you watched the debate, it is easy to understand why. If you haven’t gotten to watch it yet, here’s a quick recap…

Now, this is obviously a joke, but it is scary how close of a depiction this is to the actual debate during some moments! I, with probably a lot of other people, found my blood pressure going up during certain moments because of how heated it got. And by heated I am referring to the mature interrupting, blatant name-calling, obvious refusal to answer questions, etc.

I believe Wallace was spot on when he said that what was going on, “isn’t serving the country well”. There were so many times Wallace asked President Trump to let Biden respond only to be ignored time and time again. Wallace also stated that the way the debate was going was a “terrible missed opportunity”. I completely agree! The few short minutes where both the president and Biden were able to speak uninterrupted were where I learned the most.

I’m unsure if Trump just doesn’t know this, but whenever you speak over someone, nobody can hear or understand what either person is saying. Just because you speak louder doesn’t mean your message is getting across clearer.

In short, I hope the next couple of debates do not follow in the footsteps of the first one. I would rather walk away from watching the debates feeling informed over annoyed. I hope both candidates and their VP’s can respect each other enough to give America and its people what they deserve, a great debate!
